ROSHNI ROADSHOW
The Roshni Roadshow is coming to your community!
The Roshni Project team are hosting a series of workshops in collaboration with community partners across the Greater Toronto Area. In each workshop, we will share findings from our research, screen four short films and facilitate a discussion about mental health in the South Asian community.
Through a model of co-creation, the team worked with a group of young South Asian women with lived experience of mental health and addictions to create a series of short films about their recovery experiences. Project participants led every aspect of the creation process with the support of Maithili Venkataraman, a local award-winning filmmaker.
The workshops aim to continue the important conversation about mental health and access to services. We hope to engage families, educators, mental health service providers and faith communities in this dialogue, and collectively learn how to better support the specific mental health needs of young women in South Asian communities.
